Photoshop Experiments
Inspired by the blurred figuration of Gerhard Richter and the photographic manipulations of Thomas Ruff, this series of visual experiments uses Photoshop functions to digitally manipulate images appropriated from the endless archives of the internet. The ongoing goal is the exploration of the obfuscation of digital provenance, utilizing the theoretical language of Hito Steryl’s In Defense of the Poor Image to recontextualize and examine the fleeting nature of the image in the digital space.
